Xpertly attribute open access media

Alan blogged about Xpert this morning and I wanted to highlight another feature that we hope will be useful to our students and staff. Our first years have been learning about the complexities of copyright and creative commons licensing. They now realise how difficult it can be use other people’s images, videos or audio correctly. Hopefully Xpert can help them out.

Xpert Xpert (Xerte Public E-learning ReposiTory) project is a JISC funded project to explore the potential of delivering and supporting a distributed repository of e-learning resources.

It has a natty little attribution tool which allows you to search for pictures, video or audio that are in open educational repositories and elsewhere that are available for re-use. Once you have found what you need, you can then ‘select’ the resource and use the ‘get image with attribution’, or embed code, or insert into power point! Fantastic!
